tales of fight through a lens of love
Hey, friend!
You curl up into your beanbag chair to start a new book after a long day at school, excited to dive into a new book and get lost in a world away from your struggles. The characters are compelling and funny, and the world is immersive and makes you want to live there. But the plot drags, the characters make poor decisions and don’t learn from them, and there’s content you hope your mom doesn’t realize you’re reading. You put down the book with a sigh, and move on to doing your homework feeling even more exhausted than before you started reading. When will you finally find a book that revitalizes you like you’re a little kid again?
Words have power, and you deserve books that uplift you.
I’ve been there too.
I grew up reading books like Harry Potter and The Selection, and have been chasing that high ever since. When I got older, it was easy to compromise with what I was willing to read for the sake of finding a good story. But then I learned that there are solid books out there, and I learned how to write them. As a member of the Author Conservatory, and a book reviewer for over five years, I’ve seen where YA fiction is and where it could be. Now I’m being trained by award-winning authors and editors to create quality stories through a lens of excellence and love.
